Size Chart

The size chart feature in the Essence theme allows you to display a size chart directly in the variant picker.

Setting Up the Size Chart

To add a size chart to your product page, follow these steps:

  1. Create a Size Chart Page:
    • In your Shopify admin, navigate to Online Store > Pages.
    • Click on Add page and create a new page for your size chart. Include all relevant sizing information and save the page.
  2. Add the Size Chart to the Product Page:
    • Open the Theme Editor by going to Online Store > Themes and clicking Customize on the Essence theme.
    • Navigate to a product page in the theme editor.
    • In the sidebar, find the Variant Picker settings.
    • Under Size chart page, select the size chart page you created earlier.
  3. Adjust the Option Name (if necessary):
    • If your size option is named something other than "Size" (for example, if your store is in a language other than English), you can adjust this in the Option name setting within the Variant Picker settings. Note that this setting is case sensitive.

Using Metafields for Size Charts

You can also use metafields to assign different size charts to different products. This allows for more flexibility and customization.

  1. Create a Page Metafield:
    • In your Shopify admin, navigate to Settings > Metafields.
    • Click on Products and then Add definition.
    • Create a new metafield definition for your size chart. For example, you can name it "Size Chart" and set the type to Page reference.
  2. Assign Size Charts to Products:
    • Go to your product list in the Shopify admin.
    • Open a product and scroll down to the metafields section.
    • Find the "Size Chart" metafield you created and assign the appropriate size chart page to the product.
  3. Add the Metafield to the Theme Editor:
    • Open the Theme Editor by going to Online Store > Themes and clicking Customize on the Essence theme.
    • Navigate to a product page in the theme editor.
    • In the sidebar, find the Variant Picker settings.
    • Under Size chart page, select the metafield you created for the size chart.
