Video

The Video section in the Essence theme allows you to effectively showcase videos in your store. This section can be a powerful tool for engaging customers and highlighting your products or brand. Below, you'll find a guide on how to use the Video section, along with its various customization options.

Adding the Video Section

Instructions
  1. Navigate to the theme editor in your Shopify admin.
  2. Click on Add section.
  3. Select Video from the list of available sections.

Uploading a Video

You have two options for adding a video to this section:

Uploading a Video File

If you have a video file in formats like MP4 or MOV:

  • Click on Select video.
  • Upload your video file.

Using an External Video URL

To use a video from platforms like YouTube or Vimeo:

  • Copy the video URL.
  • Paste it into the External video URL field.

Customizing the Appearance

Video Poster

  • Video poster setting allows you to choose an image that will be displayed before the video starts playing. This is a great way to make the video more inviting to click.

Video Size

  • Customize the aspect ratio of your video through the Video size dropdown. This helps you ensure the video fits well within your store’s layout.

Full Width Option

  • Tick the Full Width option if you want the video to stretch across the width of the browser. This is useful for creating a more immersive experience.

Additional Video Sections

Essence also includes:

  • Video with text: This section lets you add a descriptive text alongside your video.
  • Video with text overlay: Here, you can overlay text directly on the video.

Both sections are configured in the same way as the standard Video section, with the added functionality of displaying text content.
